Individual Note: WINFIELD SCOTT RIBLET.
He was a son of Jonathan and Sophia (Fluke) RIBLET. His good wife wasAffie I. Russel. They had one son and two daughters. The son, ScottRussell RIBLET left a son Winfield Scott RIBLET who has a son RobertScott RIBLET. Winifred S. married Edwln S. Roach and their two sons areJere H. Roach and Allen R. Roach. Bertha R. and her husband, W. L. Pire,have a daughter,Mary Lois and a son Ward Russell.
WINFIELD SCOTT RIBLET
Erie, PA., was bornin Erie, Jan. 31, 1848. He is a son of the lateJonathan and Sophia (Fluke) RIBLET, both natives of Erie. JonathanRIBLET was a son of Michael RIBLET, whocame from Lancaster, Pal, andlocated in Erie about 1800. He married Elizabeth EBERSOLE, was a farmerof Mill Creed TS, and died Apr. 23, 1857. Jonathan his son pursued thebusiness of cabinet making, and was at one time a partner in thatbusiness with his brother, J. Harrison RIBLET. Jonathan RIBLET died in1880;his wife in 1892. W. S. RIBLET completed his education at the ErieAcademy, learned cabinet making, pursued that business for a short time,and then found employment in the office of Jacob Bootz, planing millproprietor , with whom heremained for ten years. For the following threeor four years he engaged inbusiness for himself as a contractor, and in1887 , entered the employ of Henry Shenk as bookkeeper , a position whichhe still occupies. He is a Republican, andwas a member of the ErieSchool Board, for the Sixth ward, from 1877 to 1883. Hewas secretary ofthat board for two years. Mr. RIBLET was married Apr. 9, 1872, to Affie,daughter of the late Benjamin and Sophia (Parker ) Russell, formerly ofErie county, PA., latterly of Grant county, WI. Mr. And Mrs. RIBLET,with their three children, Scott R., Winifred S, and Bertha B., reside at454East Sixth Street and are members of the Presbyterian Church. MrRIBLET is amemberof the I.O.O.F., K. Of H., A.O.U. W., and E.A.U. (Ref.74 NELSON)
