     John Woodman, born February 1, 1769 in Lee, New Hampshire, son of Joshuaand Lois (Woodman) Woodman [5-25]; married Sarah Calef, May 2, 1797. Shewas born June 18, 1780, daughter of Oliver Calef. John and Sarah settledat Sanbornton, New
Hampshire where John was a farmer. She died February 12, 1866. He diedOctober. 30, 1865 at Sanbornton, aged 96 years 8 months 29 days.

History:

John Woodman married Sarah Calef in the spring of 1797 and settled on hisfather's farm in Sanbornton where they were to raise fourteen children toadulthood. They remained on this farm throughout their life. She died in1866 in her 86th
year. He died in 1865 in his 97th year. John was a respected member ofthe community and a deacon of the Bay Baptist Church for many years.
