     BENJAMIN EMERSON RIBLET.
The subject of this sketch was a son of Michael and Hannah (Walker)RIBLET, born in East Millcreek, January, 12, 1834, and departed this lifeSaturday, October 14, 1905, in his 72nd year. He responded to the callfor volunteers in 1862, enlisting in the 145th Pennsylvania regiment,Company D. He married Miss GRACE A. Chambers Nov. 12, 1866, and hadresided in Harborcreek a number of years. He and his wife united withthe Presbyterian church in Harborcreek, July 5, 1874, He was a rulingelder. For many years he was inthe mercantile business. For nearly twoyears Mr. RIBLET was confined to the house, but he was patient anduncomplaining, and submissive to the Divine will.He was well andfavorably known throughout this section, and the unusuallylargeattendance at the funeral services testified to the confidence andesteem of his friends and neighbors.
The services were held in the Presbyterian Churchof Harborcreek, onMonday afternoon, his pastor, the Rev. James McGowan officiating, whospoke of the virtues of the deceased, his faith in CHRIST, his fidelityto duty and principle, and his loyalty to the church. He manifested anextraordinary love for Gods house and Gods people, and during his illnessoften expressed a desire to meet once more with those with whom he tooksweet counsel and walked with to the house of God, God led his servantgently down through the dark valley, It is the sweet hope that we arepermitted to cherish that he lies asleep in the beautiful God acre, nearthe town of North East.

Served on Gunboat, T.C. RIBLET Was Fireman on River During The War.
The funeral of T. C. RIBLET was held in the First Baptist Church,ClayCenter, Kansas, Sunday afternoon at 3:30 oclock. The church was notlargeenough to hold all the friends who came to pay their last tribute ofrespect to Mr. RIBLET, than whom there was not a better loved man in thecity.
THOMAS Charles RIBLET, who departed this life October 11, 1905, was a sonof Michael and Hannah RIBLET, born December 22, 1835, on his fathers oldhomestead in East Millcreek Township, Erie Co, Pa. On the 29th of May,1862, he was united in marriage with Miss Caroline Phoebe, daughter ofLyman Blair, to whom were born a family of six children, viz., Mrs. ClaraE. Ferris, of Harbor Creek, Pa., Henry N. of Petaluma, Cal., Mrs. StellaKay and Mrs. Alta Weidman of this city, also Clarence E. and the youngestson, Herbert Charles, who died in 1886.
In 1879 hesettled in Trego county, Kansas, and after proving up on hishomestead, he moved to Clay Center in 1883. For many years he followedthe occupation of a farmer,but during his long residence in this city heengaged in the dray business
