Individual Note:
     He came with his parents to Illinois in 1818, served in the Black Hawk War in Capt. Bowman's Company of the Old Battalion of Spies, First Brigade. Also a private in the Mexican War, 18 46-8. Moved to Arkansas and then Missouri where he was raided and lost his crops and stock to both sides armies. He returned to Illinois until after 1870, moving on to Texas about 1878.

     Lucille King Herring age 88 of Angelton, Texas formerly of Coleman,Texas passed away Wednesday at the Country
Village in Angleton, Texas.
Eastern Star Graveside Services will be Sunday at 2:00 PM at the Coleman City Cemetery Pavilion with Rev. Kermit Sorrells
officiating. Interment will follow under the direction of Henderson Funeral Home of Coleman. The family will receive friends
Saturday from 4 till 6 PM at Henderson Funeral Home.
Lucille was born May 29, 1919 in Bangs, Texas to the late Albert N. and Inez Munselle King. She was raised in Bangs where she
attended the Bangs Schools. On November 27, 1935 Lucille married Mancel Cleve Herring in May, Texas and they celebrated
seventy-two years of marriage. Lucille was a member of the Baptist Church and Eastern Star. She was a homemaker and
partner with her husband in Herring Jewelers for many years retiring in 1978.
