The Death of Edward L. Sizer
Killed by an Overdose of Morphine
Mr. Edward L. Sizer died at his home, No. 419 9th street, yesterdaymorning, from the effects of an overdose
of morphine, as he was too nervous to sleep without it. When some onewent to rouse him, shortly afterward,
he was found to be in a stupor. He died the next morning at the hou rstated. The deceased, who was in his
31st year, was formerly engaged in business as a drug clerk. Lately hehad been connected with river
excursions, and was arranging at the time of his death for an excursionand oyster roast at Classic shore next
Sunday. The funeral will take place from 419 9th street southwest, Sundayafternoon, at half-past two
o'clock.

The funeral of Mrs. Matilda A. Sizer took place yesterday afternoon fromthe residence of her sister, Mrs.
Reese, 478 F street southwest to which there was a very large gatheringof relatives and friends. The
pallbearers were Messrs. W.H. Baum, Nixon Brewer, George Fogle, FrederickVogt, Jacob Miller and John
Cassell. Interment at Congressional Cemetery.
